FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
What Are The Check-in And Check-out Times?
The earliest arrival time to the island is 11:00 a.m., and our latest departure time from the island is 3:00 p.m.
For safety reasons, we have a strict policy that we will not offer boat transfers to guests other than during daylight hours. If your arrival flight arrives late in the afternoon we will gladly make arrangements for an overnight stay on the mainland and transfer you to the island the following morning.
Are Late Check-ins Allowed?
For safety reasons, we have a strict policy that we will not offer boat transfers to guests other than during daylight hours. If your arrival flight arrives late in the afternoon we will gladly make arrangements for an overnight stay on the mainland and transfer you to the island the following morning.
What Forms Of Payment Are Accepted?
Reservations are paid by wire transfer or bank deposit to Royal Belize Vacation's bank account. Incidental expenses incurred during your stay may be settled with credit card, cash, or travellers cheques.
Will There Be Other People On The Island?
Royal Belize is for the exclusive enjoyment of a single guest party at a time, so there will only be you and the staff: no other guests. Also, the staff resides in an area separated by water and connected to the main island with piers, so if the guests wish it interaction with the staff can be reduced to an absolute minimum even during meal service and essential tasks such as housekeeping.
How Many Staff Will There Be?
For two guests, we will have a minimum of seven staff at your service, including the chef, concierge, and housekeeping and groundskeeping crew. Our staffing level may increase with larger groups, depending on the circumstances.
What About Gratuities?
As it should be, gratuities are entirely at your discretion and although never expected they're always appreciated. If you're pleased with your service, we recommend tipping between 5% and 10% of the reservation cost (excluding off-island activities). Gratuities are shared amongst all the Royal Belize staff.
How Do We Get To Royal Belize?
There are three options for the transfers between the international airport (BZE) in Belize City and Royal Belize. Our rates include your choice of a 20 minute commuter flight, or a two hour scenic drive in a chauffeured van through the scenic Maya Mountains and the Hummingbird Highway. Both options involve a boat transfer between the mainland and Royal Belize, also included in our rates. The third option is via direct door-to-door helicopter flight between BZE and Royal Belize: approximately 40 minutes and $1,800 each way, there is a four passenger limit and baggage size/weight limitations apply.
How Big Is The Island?
The island is approximately seven and a half acres, or three hectares, including the marina, staff, and equipment areas.
What Do We Need To Bring?
You should bring your own sunscreen, personal hygiene products, and favourite toiletries. We also recommend foot protection such as water shoes or reef shoes. We supply bath products and we have standard medicinal remedies and first-aid kits in the unlikely event that you find yourself in need.
Is Smoking Allowed?
Smoking is not permitted in the villas, but you're welcome to enjoy it everywhere else including in the Grand Palapa.
What Will The Weather Be Like?
View reliable historical information about precipitation and temperature . Please bear in mind that the outer islands of Belize receive substantially less rainfall than the mainland, to which the supplied statistics apply.
Are Children Welcome?
Absolutely! However, please note that our houses are designed primarily for adult individuals and couples and that we are surrounded by nature; therefore, we’ll want to discuss the subject to ensure everyone's comfort and safety.
